The Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center for Children and Families connects families, caregivers and friends of children with disabilities to resources, information and training specific to disabilities and conditions. We provide information on educational, recreational, therapies and other day-to-day issues. Families and caregivers visit or contact Swindells Center seeking answers to many of the questions that surface in their everyday lives. Swindells Center is a program of Providence Child Center.

Events, Training and Resources
Speaker events and trainings From speaker events, to trainings and support groups, Swindells Center provides continuous opportunities for families and friends of children with disabilities, all year long. Our presenters include local experts in various medical and educational fields, as well as nationally and internationally known advocates for children and families. View our events calendar for details and current information. My Child's Life Care Notebook and Organizer We have created a tool to organize all the forms and paperwork you have collected regarding your child and the details of his or her care (e.g., medical, ADLs, child care). The Care Notebook is available in English, English/Spanish and English/Russian. Our Swindells Center staff offer training to help you get started with the Care Notebook.
Lending library
The E.L. Wiegand Foundation Library, within the Portland Swindells Center, houses a wide variety of information on the full range of disabilities that impact children. Parents and caregivers may view the Searchable Online Library and request an item for pick-up. Videos are also available for viewing at Swindells Center; however, we do not lend videos.
