With great pleasure, we announce the recipients of the 2010 Heart of Gold Award - our dear friends Chuck and Louanna Eggert.
Together, they have given an exceptional amount of time, talent and treasure to support the programs, services and medically fragile children lovingly cared for at Providence Child Center.
Chuck and Louanna became familiar with Providence Child Center in 1988 when their fourth child, Emily, became a resident of the Center for Medically Fragile Children. Family visits to see Emily were woven into the Eggerts' daily life, and they personally experienced the tender care that each child receives. The family is grateful to Emily's caregivers, who exemplified the Providence Mission of caring for the vulnerable with respect, compassion and excellence.
While Emily was at Providence Child Center, Chuck and Louanna became aware of the need to help other medically fragile children and their families benefit from such critical services. After Emily's passing, the couple continued their commitment to Providence Child Center and its outreach to the greater community. Their generosity and leadership, including Chuck's service on the Providence Child Center Foundation board, have enriched the lives of medically fragile children at the center and in the community.
For their dedication and inspiration, we celebrate Chuck and Louanna. They truly have hearts of gold!
