Providence Child Center Foundation's Heart of Gold Award is annually bestowed upon compassionate members of our community who, with unmatched dedication, have improved the lives of children with special needs through advocacy and action.
It is with great pleasure that we announce the recipients of the 2008 Heart of Gold Award - our dear friends, Russ and Ann Humberston. For nearly a generation, as individuals and as a couple, Russ and Ann have given selflessly and steadfastly of their time, talents and treasures to our one-of-a-kind mission.
Since 1992, Ann has energetically served on the Providence Child Center Foundation Board of Directors, a consummate volunteer and advocate for medically fragile children and their families. At the same time, Russ has combined his personal passion for golf with his business acumen to benefit the Center for Medically Fragile Children at Providence Child Center. For 15 years, Russ Beaverton Toyota has been the Presenting Sponsor of the NBA/NFL Celebrity Golf Challenge, a legacy that has raised well over $2 million for children in need.
The Humberstons’ genuine affection for and dedication to the youngest and most vulnerable members in our community is inspiring. Russ and Ann are truly individuals with Hearts of Gold.
