Seven students from Wee Care's "Acorn" class of two- and three-year olds walked over to ElderPlace at Laurelhurst to visit the approximately 30 seniors enjoying the day center. They were joined by Chris Noble from the Delta Society with her certified therapy animal, Danny, a miniature horse. The kids and seniors all enjoyed petting the horse and the kids sang a few songs including, "You are my Sunshine." Many of the seniors got up and danced, and two-and-a-half-year-old Julian went around and hugged every senior and even danced with a few.
The event was coordinated by Melissa Clark of ElderPlace marketing. Both Wee Care and ElderPlace hope to play together again.
