The meaning behind the graphic

The Art of EthicsThe theme for this 6th conference in the ICCEC series is "The art of ethics."  The theme finds its origin in part in our belief that ethics, like clinical medicine, is both a science and an art. The art of ethics” graphic captures this idea: the pallet and brush represent both art itself and the artistry involved in ethics. The colors and the designs on the pallet are taken from the Center's graphic, found on our homepage, which captures in images what we consider to be the four aspects of clinical ethics consultation: clinical integrity (caduseus) beneficence (hands) autonomy (people) and justice/nonmaleficence (scales).
