A. Gately Academy's goal is to meet the unique social, emotional and academic needs of middle school students in grades 4-8. Often our students have been underserved in their former educational experience. Many of our students have an attention deficit disorder or a language-based disability. In order to be successful, it is our belief that students need a small, multisensory classroom that helps each student increase academic skills and enhance self-confidence.
B. Gately Academy provides a highly creative and focused school setting for students with learning disabilities or attention deficit disorders. By maintaining small class sizes and multisensory instruction, Gately provides a rich learning environment. Students learn strategies and skills that increase their academic performance, learning to organize, focus and communicate more effectively. Consequently students gain confidence as learners and flourish in a community of supportive teachers and peers.
Gately's supportive and creative academic environment allows students to learn, explore and interact. Small class sizes (one teacher per nine students) allow individualized assistance and the ability to tailor lessons to build on the strengths and creative interests of each student. Thus, in the course of daily lessons, students develop effective strategies that help them become successful learners.
Gately Academy is committed to creating a school environment based on the Providence core values of respect, compassion, justice, excellence and stewardship.
