The program was developed from patients' needs to obtain high quality information and guidance about complementary medicine. Within the program, patients learn about evidence-based interventions that they can implement themselves. Massage therapist and naturopath, both with special training in providing care for persons with cancer, now available.
The goal of massage therapy for those living with cancer is to enhance quality of life by reducing stress, promoting relaxation and in some situations, lessening pain. Naturopathic care, in combination with standard cancer treatment, can improve the body's capacity to fight cancer. Individual holistic care is provided with the goal of optimizing health and reducing the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
