Whole Grains and Beans

Men who eat more whole grains and beans seem to have less prostate cancer. This is probably because these foods are better sources of fiber, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants than are refined flours (most commonly “enriched flour”) such as those found in most breads, pastas and bagels.

Whole grains and beans also contribute to lower cholesterol levels and lower risks of diabetes, obesity and heart disease. There are lots of reasons to make the switch from refined grains to whole grains.
