Vision problems caused by cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, stroke and head injuries make it difficult to read the newspaper, follow recipes, pound a nail or thread a needle.
The vision program, conducted by Providence occupational therapists, provides a comprehensive vision assessment. To help patients regain visual confidence, the therapists:
Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and visual enhancement devices
Suggest changes to make the home environment easier and safer to live in
Teach family members and caregivers about visual conditions
For a visual assessment, please ask your physician for a referral.
