Vision Assessment

Vision problems caused by cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, stroke and head injuries make it difficult to read the newspaper, follow recipes, pound a nail or thread a needle.

The vision program, conducted by Providence occupational therapists, provides a comprehensive vision assessment. To help patients regain visual confidence, the therapists:

  • Teach patients how to use adaptive equipment and visual enhancement devices
  • Suggest changes to make the home environment easier and safer to live in
  • Teach family members and caregivers about visual conditions

For a visual assessment, please ask your physician for a referral.
