Patient service is the core of what we do at Providence, and the satisfaction of our patients with the care they've received is the ultimate measure of how well we've done our job. We conduct surveys of our patients on a monthly (and, in some facilities, daily) basis to make sure that we are meeting our patients' needs and living up to their expectations.
Following are links to two independent organizations that report on patient satisfaction in hospitals. Check these sites to see how patients rate Providence's care. In addition, we will begin posting the results of our internal patient satisfaction surveys this fall, so please check back with us.
Resources and Reports
Hospital Compare: This Web site reports patient feedback collected in a national standardized survey (The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems). Surveyed patients respond to questions about their experiences with medical, surgical or maternity care during a recent overnight stay in the hospital. Hospital Compare allows you to see how patients rated Providence's care in this survey, or to compare Providence's results with other hospitals.
AHRQ: The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, offers reports on patient satisfaction on its Web site.
