Advocacy - Contacting Your Legislative Representative

Faxes and E-Mail

Faxes and e-mail are increasingly being used by citizen advocates. They can convey a sense of urgency and are particularly useful when you need to send an immediate message. In general, when preparing a fax or e-mail you should follow the same guidelines as those for writing a letter.

Since there is no letterhead or stationary included with e-mail, be sure to clearly identify your name, address and affiliation within the text of your message.
