Advocacy - Contacting Your Legislative Representative

Who Else Should I Contact About a Particular Issue?

Don't just contact your own representatives or those legislators on health committees who have expressed opposition to the position you and your professional associates have on the issue. Also contact legislators who are in support of your position and furnish them with personal anecdotes and facts which they can use to back them up when their position is challenged. Offer to furnish them with additional information and support. Legislators do not wish to stand alone on a position and you should do everything you can to encourage them to remain steadfast in the face of opposition.
