PAST FORWARD

The Providence pilgrims arrived at St. Peter's Square at 6:30 a.m. to secure good seats for the Beatification ceremony.

When biographies of the seven beati were read to the Pope, the large portraits above the canopy were still veiled. Their dramatic unveiling (below) brought delight to the huge crowd. Blessed Emilie Gamelin's portrait is second from the right.
