Providence Everett has once again been named a Thomson 100 Top hospital.
Thomson Healthcare and the 100 Top Hospitals program announced the winners of the 15th annual 100 Top Hospitals®: National Benchmarks for Success study on March 17. The study recognizes hospitals that demonstrate superior clinical, operational, and financial performance.
Providence Everett is the only hospital in Washington make the list this year. For a list of winners, go to http://www.100tophospitals.com/.
The 100 Top Hospitals have higher survival rates, fewer patient complications, and lower expenses – all while maintaining financial stability. Thomson estimates that if all Medicare inpatients received the same level of care as those in the 100 Top Hospitals winners:
- More than 120,000 additional patients would survive this year
- More than 138,000 patient complications would be avoided annually
- Expenses would decline by $6.2 billion a year
- The average patient stay would decrease by more than half a day
The 100 Top Hospital award winners reward their employees with better pay. They also have better patient safety, saving lives and expenses.
Providence Everett was named a 100 Top Hospital in 2005, and a 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital in 2007 for the sixth time.
