Providence Holy Cross Medical Center serves communities in the northern San Fernando Valley – including Mission Hills, Northridge, Granada Hills and Porter Ranch – as well as the Santa Clarita and Simi Valleys. High-Tech, High-Touch Facilities
Providence Holy Cross Medical Center continues to expand to meet the rapidly growing health care needs of the communities we serve. On the Providence Holy Cross campus, we are currently building a new 138 bed patient care wing scheduled to open in late 2010. The addition will include a new Women’s Pavilion featuring labor and delivery suites; a 12-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; an expanded intensive care unit; surgery suites; and a GI lab for digestive disorders.

The new Providence Holy Cross Health Center in Porter Ranch complements the many inpatient services provided at Providence Holy Cross. The health center features an urgent care center, pharmacy, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services, a women’s wellness center, and physician offices. The Santa Clarita Valley Medical Plaza in Valencia provides urgent care, physical therapy, a pharmacy, physician services, outpatient surgery, advanced diagnostic imaging, laboratory services and outpatient cancer services. On the Providence Holy Cross campus, we’ve added a second, state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory and established a Rapid Response Team – a vital component of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s 5 Million Lives Campaign. In addition, we have doubled the number of beds in the emergency department.

Programs and Services
Providence Regional Cancer Centers
Providence Regional Cancer Centers are the largest providers of cancer services in the San Fernando Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley. Five-year survival rates are well above the national average for patients with breast, colorectal, ovarian and prostate cancers. The features include dedicated medical oncology units and chemotherapy infusion centers, as well as intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and pain management services.

Providence Heart and Vascular Institute
Providence Heart and Vascular Institute is a leading provider of heart and thoracic services in the San Fernando Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley, with nearly 2,000 cardiovascular and thoracic inpatients each year. Providence Holy Cross ranks among the top 10 percent nationally for treating patients with heart attack symptoms within the first 90 minutes of arrival in the emergency department, and treats more interventional and open heart patients than any other hospital serving the Santa Clarita Valley. Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is among an elite group of hospitals in Los Angeles to be designated an ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Receiving Center by the Los Angeles County EMS Agency.

Providence Women’s Services
Collaborating with other Providence Centers of Excellence to offer multidisciplinary health care to women of all ages, Providence Women’s Services features Southern California’s most advanced diagnostic technology and one of the busiest obstetrics/gynecology services in the San Fernando Valley. Features include a 24/7 anesthesia service and in-house perinatology.

Providence Neurosciences and Rehabilitation Services
Providence Neurosciences and Rehabilitation Services represent the largest and fastest-growing resources for individuals with complex neurological disorders who live or work in the San Fernando Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley. Each year, our neurologists and neurosurgeons treat nearly 700 inpatients, and our orthopedists treat nearly 850 inpatients. Acute and outpatient rehabilitation services are among the best in the valley. Innovative therapies include computer- assisted microscopic and endoscopic neurosurgery, computer-assisted stereotactic radiosurgery and minimally invasive hip replacement surgery.

Providence Digestive Health Services
In this leading center for the prevention, screening, diagnosis and care of digestive conditions, our multidisciplinary team of specialists annually performs nearly 11,300 clinical and technologically advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound.

Providence Surgical Services
Providence Surgical Services features the most advanced technology in the San Fernando Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley to provide a full spectrum of surgical services, including burn and trauma treatment and complex reconstructive surgery. Providence Holy Cross surgeons perform nearly 5,000 inpatient and approximately 1,680 outpatient procedures annually.
