Providence Regional Medical Center Everett

Providence Regional Medical Center Everett is part of Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, care centers, physicians, clinics, health plans, home health services, and affiliated programs and services in the western United States.

Recipient of the HealthGrades 2007, 2008 and 2009 Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™, Providence Regional Medical Center Everett is the largest medical center serving northwest Washington — Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, San Juan, and Island counties. Providence Regional is a fully accredited, 372-bed, acute care and outpatient medical center located on three campuses within the Everett area (Colby, Pacific and Mill Creek).

To help meet the increasing needs of the region, Providence began construction in 2005 on a $500-million expansion and renovation project. The plan called for a variety of new and expanded services, including an outpatient cancer center, new bed tower with increased bed capacity, expanded space for diagnostic imaging, a new emergency department, a new interventional lab and new surgical suites. In June 2007, the new Providence Regional Cancer Partnership opened its doors to patients, and construction continues on the 12-story bed tower scheduled to be in operation by 2011.

About the Area
Providence Regional Medical Center Everett is located in Snohomish County, a collection of thriving cities and quaint rural communities in northwest Washington state. One of the fastestgrowing counties in Washington, it is projected to grow from 686,000 residents today to more than 1 million by 2025. Everett — a city of just over 100,000 — serves as the county seat and boasts a variety of neighborhoods, excellent schools, and a revitalized downtown and waterfront that have earned it the prestigious recognition as an All-America City.

The mild, seasonal climate allows for year-round enjoyment of all that this area has to offer. From the Cascade Mountains to the Puget Sound, residents enjoy a multitude of recreational activities. It’s one of the few places where outdoor enthusiasts can ski in the morning, golf in the afternoon and sail at sunset.

Everett serves as a gateway to the San Juan Islands, a world-renowned nautical paradise for boaters, fishermen and whale watchers. And with Seattle just 30 minutes away, access to world-class performing arts, professional sports, restaurants and shopping is quick and convenient.

Award-Winning Cardiovascular Program
Providence Regional Medical Center Everett is one of only 23 hospitals nationwide recognized seven times as one of the 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals. In the last seven years, Providence Regional has received more recognition for excellence in cardiovascular care by organizations such as Thomson Reuters and HealthGrades than any other hospital in Washington. Year after year Providence Regional demonstrates pioneering leadership in Washington in the field of cardiovascular care, including being the first to have a cardiac surgery single-stay unit, the first to use plaqueidentifying ultrasound to assess heart attack risk, the first to use remote monitoring for pacemakers, and the first to provide a low-cost, comprehensive risk screening exam. Providence Regional was also one of the first hospitals in the country to offer stent graft therapy for abdominal aortic aneurysm care. Providence Regional has established strategic alliances in cardiovascular technology and information systems to ensure that its clinicians have the equipment needed to continue this award-winning performance.

Hospitalists enjoy a collaborative working relationship with Providence Regional’s 600-member medical staff, and work with patients’ primary care providers to coordinate patient care both in the hospital and following discharge. In 2007, Providence Regional added a hospital intensivist program in both the Critical Care Unit and Cardiac Single Stay Unit, ensuring that people with life-threatening conditions receive expert care 24 hours a day.
