Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville is a critical access hospital serving a three-county area in spectacular northeast Washington. Opened in 1919, the hospital is part of Providence Health & Services, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics, physicians and affiliated services in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California and Montana.

About the Area
From the tranquility of the Colville National Forest to the grandeur of the Salmo-Priest Wilderness, Colville is positioned as one of the most beautiful places to live in the West. Located at the intersection of U.S. 395 and State Route 20 in northeast Washington, Colville is nestled between the Colville National Forest, the Columbia River and the Selkirk Mountains. The town is about 65 miles northwest of Spokane, Washington, 40 miles south of the Canadian border and 350 miles east of Seattle. With an elevation of 1,635 feet, Colville has a true four-season climate.

Colville, population 5,045, combines small-town hospitality with nature, interesting history and a rich culture. The nearby Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge, situated on the west slope of the Selkirk Mountain Range, is the only mountainous, mixed-conifer forest refuge in the contiguous United States. The entire area offers unparalleled outdoor recreation, from world-class snow skiing at the 49. North resort to fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and camping.
