About the Area
The city of Chewelah is about 50 miles north of Spokane, Washington, and has a population of 2,300. Located in one of northeast Washington’s most picturesque ponderosa forests, Chewelah has blossomed into a regional recreation center. It is home to the renowned 49° North ski resort, but that’s just the beginning. Carved among the pines is a challenging 27-hole golf course, while the town itself offers family fun including museums and restaurants. The area outside Chewelah is a magnificent outdoor playground offering an array of activities such as fishing, hunting, hiking and camping.
