Our Catholic Tradition
Emilie Court is the only Catholic sponsored assisted living facility in Spokane. Together with the Sisters of Providence,we offer daily Mass in the adjacent chapel at Mount Saint Joseph.
History & Heritage
Personal loss sensitized Emilie to the sorrows and needs of others. Turning to Mary, the Mother of Sorrows, for strength, Emilie offered her home, her resources, and indeed her life to alleviate the miseries of the widowed, the aged poor, the abandoned and the ill. At the invitation of Bishop Bourget, Emilie became a vowed religious and the co-founder of the Sisters of Providence. The now-Blessed Emilie Gamelin continues to inspire like-minded women to reach out to others in difficult and unfortunate circumstances in the United States, Canada, Chile and several other countries.
