Providence Centralia Hospital Emergency Department Nurse Wins National Award
CENTRALIA, Wash--Dede Utley, RN, CEN, emergency department clinical supervisor for Providence Centralia Hospital, received the "Rising Star Award" presented by the national Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) at its annual meeting in New Orleans on Sept. 19.
Utley was recognized for her significant contributions to the ENA as exhibited by involvement at both the state and national levels, while working to enhance ENA as the professional organization of emergency nurses.
Locally, Utley has provided community outreach for trauma education, has participated in the DWI Victim’s Panel, has organized free donations of hand gun safety locks and bike helmets, has been an active member in the Washington State Emergency Nurses Association and has displayed consistent enthusiasm and exuberance for the emergency nursing profession.
Utley also serves as Providence Centralia Hospital’s trauma coordinator and was a leader in the recent redesignation of the emergency department from a Level IV to a Level III trauma center.
Providence Centralia Hospital, part of the Providence Health System, is a not-for-profit 191-bed hospital serving Lewis County with comprehensive medical, surgical and educational services.
