Lifeline at Providence St. Peter Hospital

Lifeline at Providence Centralia Hospital

What is Lifeline®?
Lifeline is an easy-to-use personal emergency response system that allows older adults, physically challenged and chronically ill people to remain independent and more confident when living at home. With Lifeline, help is available at the touch of a button 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

How Does it Work?
Lifeline will operate through any home telephone line with a modular jack and uses two pieces of equipment. A small personal help button is worn around your neck or wrist, and a home unit with a built-in speaker and microphone is hooked up to your telephone. When you press your personal help button, the home unit is activated and automatically dials the Lifeline Monitoring Center. The personal help button is 100% waterproof and will work up to 600 feet away from the home unit. Special adaptive equipment is  available for subscribers with limited physical abilities.

Help is at Your Fingertips
Once your personal help button signal is received, a Lifeline monitor with complete access to your profile will contact you immediately. The monitor will quickly assess your situation and summon appropriate help, such as a friend, relative or emergency service. The Lifeline monitor will remain in contact with you until your emergency is resolved. Lifeline monitors speak several languages and have immediate access to interpreters if needed.

Inactivity Alarm Feature
If you select this feature, the home unit will automatically call the Lifeline Monitoring Center if it is not reset every 12 or 24 hours. This is an additional safety feature that will summon help if you are unable to press your personal help button. This feature benefits those who are alone for several days at a time and is not designed for users who are only alone at night or have someone checking in with them every day. This feature is optional and is available for an additional monthly fee.

Equipment
The Slimline Personal Help Button is small, lightweight and waterproof to provide maximum comfort and flexibility. It can be worn as a pendant with the adjustable neckcord or it can be easily converted to a wrist strap.

The full-featured voice communicator links subscribers to the Lifeline response center. The TelAssure feature reminds subscribers to test the unit every 30 days. Subscribers can adjust ringer and alarm volumes to preferred level. Additional features include a 12- or 24-hour inactivity timer, hands-free telephone answering and cancel reset for subscribers monitored by the Lifeline Call Center. Comes with the Classic Pendant™ or Slimline™ Personal Help Button.
