Olympia Community

What a location! One of the first things mentioned by physicians who locate here is the amazing livability of the area. Olympia retains a small-town feel, but boasts the resources and amenities of a much larger community. The population of the metropolitan area is upwards of 82,000, but the community is very friendly and accessible.

Olympia is filled with excellent schools, friendly neighborhoods and a lively downtown. It’s a great place to raise a family. Housing costs are very reasonable. Additional housing information will be provided at the time of interviews.

You’ll enjoy a slower pace of life, yet an area with lots to do — canoeing to camping, hoops to hiking, baseball to boating, restaurant hopping to shopping. Whatever you do for fun, Olympia is home to it or close to it.

Pacific Northwest
Set on the southern tip of Puget Sound, Olympia is right in the heart of the Pacific Northwest ... both in geography and in attitude. Interstate 5 offers quick, convenient access to many great Pacific Northwest destinations.

Seattle, a short hour away, offers sports — NFL football, Major League baseball and NBA basketball. Not to mention its world-class music, restaurants and shopping!

About three hours north is Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada — truly an international crossroads. Portland, Ore., is two hours south. The city’s thriving downtown and historic neighborhoods entice visitors from all over the world!

A two-hour drive east gets you to the Cascade Mountains and Mt. Rainier for a world of wintertime play —downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. The ancient rain forests of Olympic National Park are just an hour away to the west. The Pacific Ocean also is just over an hour away … replete with clamming and beachcombing
