Providence Addictions Recovery Center Gives Grant to Fund Highlands Beautification Project

LONGVIEW, Wash.--The Longview Providence Addictions Recovery Center (a satellite office of Providence Centralia Hospital’s Addiction Recovery Center) has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Highlands Beautification Project, an improvement project at Archie Anderson Park in Longview.

Immediate safety measures will be implemented at the park, including better lighting, resurfacing of the basketball court and replacing tall growth with smaller bushes for better visibility. Sports clinics for basketball, football, softball, soccer, cheerleading and kung fu will be offered this summer.

The future goal is to develop the park as an attractive place for families to participate in recreational activities. Improvements will include park cleanup, more park repairs, more recreational programs and a mural. Each week will bring a new focus, beginning with basketball. Ongoing activities will be held throughout the year.
