Regional Heart Program

Providence St. Peter Hospital
Regional Heart Center (360) 493-4508
Cardiac Rehabilitation Program (360) 493-7050

Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. As we age, heredity and lifestyle factors can cause plaque to build up in the lining of our hearts' arteries, leading to recurring chest pain (angina), congestive heart failure or heart attack.

When you have heart trouble, you want to get the best possible care from people you trust. At Providence St. Peter Hospital's Regional Heart Program, we've been taking care of hearts, right here in the South Sound, for more than 100 years.

Each year, our heart surgeons perform more than 500 open heart surgeries. Our cardiologists perform more than 2,700 cardiology procedures including diagnostic catheterization, angioplasty, stent implantation and a wide range of other leading-edge procedures.

And once you are on the road to recovery, our cardiac rehabilitation program—one of the largest on the West Coast—can help you rebuild your life and stay on the right track.

National Quality Awards
The surgeons, cardiologists and staff behind our Heart Program have received national recognition for excellence, earning prestigious awards over the past several years, including:

  • Ranked number one hospital for cardiology and cardiac intervention in Washington State by HealthGrades.
  • Ranked number two hospital in Washington State for Overall Cardiac Services by HealthGrades.
  • Five State Rating for Heart Attack Care by HealthGrades.
  • Named Solucient 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital in 1999 and 2003.  Only three hospitals in Washington State achieved this ranking.  The others were Providence Everett Medical Center and Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, all sponsored by the Sisters of Providence.
