Michael Harris, M.D., Joins Medical Oncology Team
Michael Harris, MDProvidence Western Washington Oncology is pleased to welcome Michael Harris, M.D. Dr. Harris is board certified in internal medicine and oncology. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University of Medicine and completed his medical oncology fellowship at the Vincent Lombardi Cancer Center in Washington D.C. Dr. Harris is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.


He is now accepting patients (physician referrals preferred). Call 360-754-3934 to schedule an appointment.

Navigator Available for Breast Cancer Patients
Melodie PetersenCancer treatment can be a complicated and overwhelming process for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. Now Melodie Petersen, breast cancer patient nurse navigator, is available to guide patients through their care at the Providence Regional Cancer System. 





Providence Experts Attend Survivorship Conference
Roy OlpinRoy Olpin and Cobie Whitten, Ph.D., from the Providence Regional Cancer System, recently attended a comprehensive three-day course on survivorship care. They were competitively selected from cancer settings across the United States to attend this course.

Olpin is senior director of Providence Oncology Services, while Dr. Whitten oversees the new Cancer Survivorship Pilot Program. 

The primary goal of the course was to provide Cobie Whitten, PhDinterdisciplinary teams with information on survivorship care issues and resources to implement goals aimed at improving survivorship care in their cancer institutions. The City of Hope (COH) Comprehensive Cancer Center received a five-year grant from the National Cancer Institute to conduct this course.
