Employee Services

Problems come in all shapes and sizes. So do solutions. Sometimes a professional counselor can help you find the best way to resolve an issue—a way that works for you. Providence Employee Assistance Services (EAS) offers free, confidential, brief therapy, problem-solving counseling designed to help you bring your problems down to a manageable size.

Addiction
According to statistics provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 7.4% of Americans meet the diagnostic criteria for alcohol abuse or alcohol dependence. More than one-half of American adults have a close family member who has or had alcoholism. Approximately one in four children younger than 18 years old is exposed to alcohol abuse or alcohol dependence in the family.

If you are having difficulties with your alcohol and/or drug abuse or have a family member that you are concerned about, the counselors at Providence EAS can help. We can provide you and your family member assessments and resources for the treatment of alcohol and drug abuse or dependence. We can also help with gambling addiction and sexual addiction.  We do not provide court-ordered counseling.

Couples Counseling
Relationship with one another is one of the best things that life has to offer. At Providence EAS, we can help you and your loved one improve communication skills and help you resolve issues that are keeping you apart. We offer short-term couples counseling.

Domestic Violence
We can help you work through the confusing thoughts and feelings that go with domestic violence whether you are the victim or the perpetrator. We have resources to help you protect yourself and to get needed assistance.  We also have resources for those needing anger management. We do not provide court-ordered counseling.

Family Counseling
Family dynamics can be very complicated. Often we need help with parenting, stepfamily issues, developing healthy boundaries with our families of origin, and how to appropriately raise children. We may be part of the “sandwich generation” focusing on our own families and also looking for eldercare for an aging parent. We also provide short-term counseling for children and adolescents.

Financial Assistance
Providence EAS counselors can help you with budgeting and provide resources for getting out of debt. Just call for an appointment.

Grief and Loss
We all go through loss in our lives; whether it is the death of a loved one, loss of a spouse or partner due to breakup or divorce, or the loss of our own health. The counselors at Providence EAS can lend support and help you on your way of healing. Providence EAS provides debriefs (expressing emotions) in response to critical incidents that occur at work, e.g., death, layoffs, closures, and reorganizations.

Individual Counseling
We all need someone to talk with at times. We may need a sounding board that can be objective when our family and friends can’t. Individual counseling at Providence EAS provides just that. We offer free, short-term, confidential counseling for a variety of mental health issues including stress management, workplace issues, addiction, depression/anxiety, past and present trauma, self esteem, and codependency and relationship concerns in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. We also refer for long-term counseling when a little more is needed.

Legal Assistance
Providence EAS can help you find an attorney. Our Lawyer Referral Service provides a free initial consultation by one of the attorneys on our panel. Just call EAS for a referral.

Separation and Divorce
When relationships don’t work out and separation or divorce is imminent, it is often helpful to see a counselor to help with closure, especially if children are involved.

Stress Management
Our lives are so busy these days that at times we feel like we can’t cope with any more pressure. Providence EAS Counselors can help you manage stress before stress manages you. An appointment is only a telephone call away.

Mediation and Conflict Resolution
Sometimes the relationships with coworkers become strained. As we have disagreements with our loved ones they also occur in the workplace. These uncomfortable interactions can make the work situation very stressful. Providence EAS provides onsite mediation and conflict resolution.
