A not-for-profit regional health care center, Providence St. Peter Hospital has been serving the people of Southwest Washington since 1887. Operated by the Sisters of Providence, the hospital fulfills its mission by delivering quality care, respecting the dignity of every individual, and meeting the physical, social, psychological and spiritual needs of its patients, with particular concern for the poor and elderly.
Making a Difference
You will find that becoming a Junior Volunteer at Providence St. Peter Hospital is a worthwhile and rewarding experience! It is a fun way to give the gift of your time while making a difference in the community.
There are a variety of ways you can contribute, such as working on patient floors, in the gift shop, in the Family Birth Center or doing clerical work. Your volunteer hours are valuable on college applications and work resumes, but most importantly, you will benefit from the knowledge that you have made a difference in the lives of others.
Orientation and Training
Junior Volunteer orientation is held three times a year: winter, spring and fall. This orientation includes training on safety and hospital procedures, as well as instruction from a nurse educator. Junior volunteers must attend the scheduled orientation and training day. Upon completion of this program, volunteers will be assigned to an area in the hospital that best meets their interests and abilities.
