A generous grant from Ann and Bill Swindells will allow the Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center to reach across Oregon.

Thanks to a generous grant from Ann and Bill Swindells, the Jean Baton Swindells Resource Center for Children and Families, based at Providence Child Center, is expanding the reach of its services. Locations in Medford and Hood River have already opened their doors – and plans are taking shape for office space in Bend and Seaside.

The grant supports the unprecedented growth of this unique resource center, which serves thousands of families every year. The center works with any caregiver of a child who has special needs – from a medically fragile child to a youngster with eating difficulties or Tourette syndrome, for example. Anne Saraceno and her staff help families tap into social service agencies, navigate public school systems, find specialists and build stronger relationships with helpful resources. Currently they handle many requests from outside the Portland area over the phone and through the Internet.
