The story begins in the 1940s in the close-knit Portland community of Laurelhurst. As one of eight children, John Harrington learned two of life's guiding principles from his parents, Bernie and Madeline: Always do good for others. Always do your best. The fruits of those lessons are visible decades later in the Harrington Family Foundation.
