The Birth Center offers the latest technology, comfortable surroundings, all in a family-centered environment. We're here for you to make your birth as joyfully memorable as it can be.

As of Oct. 9, 2009 visitation restrictions help ensure patient safety. With the rapid spread of the H1N1 flu virus, all Providence hospitals in Oregon have implemented restrictions on visitation to help keep our patients, visitors and employees safe. More details

Experience all levels of childbirth - labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum - all in one beautiful, private home-like setting. Our suites are spacious enough for family and guests. Relax in the jetted soaking tub, wrap yourself in your cozy robe and slippers and enjoy the natural light and views with all the amenities and comforts of home.

Our experienced and certified nurses will provide compassionate care for you and your baby. The Birth Center's nurses and staff consistently receive the highest scores on patient satisfaction surveys. Still searching for a provider close to home?

bullet Classes
Providence offers a variety of educational classes for pre and post-pregnancy, including breastfeeding support, newborn care and infant massage. Search for Providence classes nearest you. For class questions or registration please call the Providence Resource Line at 503-574-6595, 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.

bullet Breastfeeding Support and Lactation
Our Breastfeeding Support and Newborn Care Clinic offers breastfeeding supplies and outpatient appointments with a board certified lactation consultant. Our breastfeeding support line is available seven days a week. For more information or to make an appointment, call 503-537-1400.

bullet Baby-Friendly
The Providence Newberg Medical Birth Center is on the pathway to become a certified World Health Organization UNICEF Baby-Friendly USA Hospital promoting and supporting breastfeeding. The Birth Center supports each mother's feeding choice and provides breastfeeding support and consultations before, during and after delivery.

bullet New Moms' Group
You're sure to enjoy the connections made at one of our New Moms' Groups. New moms meet weekly to learn about infant development, feeding issues, safety and to meet other new moms and babies. You're welcome to drop-in to either the Wednesday or Thursday session at the Sherwood YMCA or Providence Newberg Medical Center- first floor conference room. There is no fee to participate.
