Privacy & Information Security

Trust is the foundation upon which health care is built. Providence and its Affiliates are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our patients and other customers, students, faculty, caregivers, donors, physicians and others who provide us with such information. 

The Providence Privacy Office and Information Security Office provide guidance and serve as resources for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other federal and state laws to ensure the privacy rights of patients are protected and patient health information is used and disclosed appropriately. HIPAA also establishes a set of information security controls and safeguards to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of electronic health information.  A variety of security practices help us secure the data, computers, and mobile devices we use in our professional and personal lives every day.

We have created this site for our patients, visitors, contractors/vendors and others to provide samples of educational materials provided by our privacy and security programs.
