About Chava L. Sandoval

Chava Sandoval, PA-C, became a medical provider because of her life experiences. Watching her first surgery in college, working as a certified nursing assistant in a busy neurovascular unit, and shadowing surgical physician assistants (PA) as they worked to improve their patients’ health, all led her to the path of becoming a surgical PA. “I chose a career I knew I would be passionate about for years to come,” Chava says.

As a physician assistant, Chava says it’s important to understand what makes each of her patients unique so she can tailor their care to best meet their health needs. “It’s my job to provide my patients and their families with the information they need to make an informed decision, while also considering how my patients’ beliefs and values will guide their decision-making process,” she says. “As a team, we will work together to achieve the best possible long-term health outcomes.” It’s Chava’s goal to form a partnership with her patients as she learns about their health challenges. She takes the time to really listen to her patients, educate them about their medical conditions and engage them in customizing a care plan. “Through these actions, I hope to strengthen my patients’ overall satisfaction,” she explains. Chava has always been a problem solver in life, and working with patients and their families to address their health problems so they can return to what matters most to them, is the best part of what she does.

Chava attended Touro University in California where she completed her physician assistant degree.

Born and raised in a small town in Eastern Oregon, Chava earned her undergraduate degree on the East Coast but returned to Oregon afterward to be near family and because of her love for the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she likes to hike, kayak, practice yoga, play tennis and surf. She also enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures and trying new cuisines.
