About William C. Chapin

Dr. Chapin became a physician so that he could have a direct impact on people’s health and well-being. After his medical residency, he worked as an internist in a community health center that emphasized culturally competent care for a largely Latino community. The high rates of diabetes and thyroid disease among his patients motivated him to continue his education to get more specialized training in treating these and other endocrine diseases.

Today, Dr. Chapin has well over a decade of experience in general endocrinology, with an emphasis on thyroid and parathyroid diseases, osteoporosis and adrenal issues. “I enjoy interacting with my patients, motivating them and empowering them with the tools to achieve better health,” he says.

A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Dr. Chapin earned his medical degree at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He completed his internal medicine residency and internship, followed by a three-year endocrinology fellowship, at Oregon Health & Science University. He is board certified in endocrinology and internal medicine.

An outdoors enthusiast, Dr. Chapin is a trail runner, ultrarunner, “fastpacker” backpacker, fly fisherman and birder. Indoors, he enjoys cooking and learning about wine.
