About Shelly Hook

Dr. Shelly Hook provides compassionate and down-to-earth care to all her patients at Grace Clinic®. She prides herself by listening and getting to know her patients so that she can truly gain a full understanding to what each of her patients is experiencing, “Taking the time to listen to the patient is critical to me because the things that are going on in the outside world is affecting their well-being.”

Dr. Hook graduated with a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Texas Tech University in 1998 and Texas Tech Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in 2007. She also completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at TTUHSC in 2011. Dr. Hook is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has been a member of the Grace family since August 2011.

Dr. Hook ensures all her patients are getting the highest level of care in the realm of Women’s Health. Dr. Hook uses not only her medical knowledge, but her psychology experience in her practice. She embraces each patient’s health needs and acknowledges that besides the annual exam, pregnancy, or other issue they are being seen for that, “they are a family member, they are a mother, a daughter, a wife, and the things that are going on with them physically is affecting their relationships and their way of life.”

When it comes to Dr. Hook’s obstetrics care, she aims to provide her patients with the labor and delivery experience they desire. She educates all her patients on the options available to them and talks with them to help make the best decisions for their birth plan of choice. Dr. Hook also counsels her patients on nutrition, activity level, and overall health through their pregnancy to ensure they are setting the framework for a healthy delivery and beyond. Delivering a baby is one of the most intimate times between a couple and Dr. Hook feels honored to be part of it.
