Evan Fertig, MD, FAES earned his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ. He then completed his medical internship, neurology residency and epilepsy fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. Dr. Fertig is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. His particular clinical interests include evaluation and management of individuals after experiencing a first seizure, and he worked with his colleagues to develop the Providence First Seizure/new onset epilepsy program to efficiently evaluate and properly counsel patients after this potentially life changing event. His practice also focuses on medical, dietary, and surgical treatments of medically refractory epilepsy. In addition, he is a member of the Epilepsy Study Consortium, a group of scientific investigators dedicated to the development of new therapies in epilepsy to improve patient care.
