Professional Statement
"At the Santa Monica Podiatry Group, we have NO hype, NO claims of being the best, NO false guarantees of curing your fungus, NO egos to deal with in your care, NO promises that cannot be kept, NO misleading ads or therapies that are unproven. Just truthful, honest, effective, competent care. Because we use science and experience to earn your trust. I am committed to patient education as well as taking a conservative, gentle approach to making treatment recommendations." Dr. Wallen has considerable experience in treating diabetic and chronic wounds. He is particularly interested in pediatric podiatry (Podopediatrics), treating the wide variety and unique problems of this patient population. Dr. Wallen volunteers for the athletic training department of a prominent local school. Dr. Wallen was born in Toronto and is of course a hockey fan. Dr. Wallen’s surgical expertise includes the treatment of arthritis of the foot. Maintaining joint motion of the big toe is the goal rather than fusion operation. The CARTIVA ™ implant for degenerative joint arthritis is a revolutionary device and simpler surgical approach to this common ailment. The doctor is experienced in non-surgical MLS laser therapy for nerve problems in the ankle/foot. State-of-the-art biologic injection treatments utilizing PRP (platelet rich plasma), A2M (Alpha-2-macroglobulin) and joint lubricants (Supartz Fx) for various foot/ankle ailments and injuries are available as well.
