About Melissa A. Hemphill
Dr. Melissa Hemphill is passionate about integrative medicine and preventive care. She especially enjoys taking care of children and adolescents. “I chose family medicine because it champions comprehensive, long-term medical care that focuses on quality of life, shared decision-making and care for entire communities,” she says. She cares deeply about health advocacy and changing health policy to create a healthier Oregon.
After receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon in Eugene, Dr. Hemphill earned her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. She completed her training with Providence Milwaukie Family Medicine Residency and went on to obtain fellowship training from Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Hemphill is a native Oregonian. In her free time, she enjoys reading, rock climbing and trying to be a better cook. She is taking piano lessons and wants to learn Spanish

Dr. Hemphill is always attentive and communicative during a healthcare visit. I feel she really listens to my concerns and takes them seriously. Better yet, she is familiar with my various health conditions and respectful of my desire to have a say in how to manage these health issues. The few times I've had to receive care from a substitute physician, I can't say I felt as confident that my concerns were taken with the same degree of consideration, so I prefer having my appointments with Dr Hemphill. Unfortunately, she is pretty busy and in demand so it's not always easy to book an appointment with her in a timely fashion.
