About Mischa B. Ronick
Dr. Ronick says he became a doctor because he wanted to help others improve their health and well-being, especially people who are uninsured or face barriers in finding care. He emphasizes clear communication and shared decision-making and strives to understand his patients' goals and desires. "I see myself as an educator," Dr. Ronick says. "I try to empower them to make lifestyle choices that support their health. I also see my role as an advocate for my patients and for healthier communities."
Dr. Ronick says he enjoys caring for people throughout their lifespans. He has an emphasis in family planning, pregnancy prevention, prenatal care and newborn deliveries. "I enjoy the opportunity to support patients during some of their most challenging, fearful or joyful times," he says. "I believe everyone has the capacity to improve their lives and circumstances."
Dr. Ronick earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He completed his family medicine residency at University of Wisconsin, Madison. Originally from Colorado, Dr. Ronick lived in Portland for several years. In 2014-15, he moved to southern Belize with his partner to co-direct a primary care clinic in a rural, impoverished district. This experience helped him grow as an individual and a doctor.
When he's not working, Dr. Ronick enjoys running, bicycling, listening to music and spending time with his family. He speaks English and intermediate Spanish.
