About Ruth A. Fischer-Wright
Ruth Fischer-Wright, MD, follows a philosophy founded on giving her patients an active role in their health care. "I view the patient-provider relationship as a team," she says. "I believe that each encounter with a patient is an opportunity to empower and assist them as they make decisions about their care."
Board certified in family practice, Dr. Fischer-Wright completed her medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency with Providence Health System in Seattle.
A native of the Northwest, Dr. Fischer-Wright was born and raised in Washington's Yakima Valley. Along with her husband and three children, she enjoys watching and participating in sports and being active in their church.

Dr. Fisher-Wright is the only reason I selected Providence for my medical coverage. She is a fantastic doctor. In the past the only issue was the front desk. I had to wait on hold sometimes more than 30 minutes to talk with the person from the front desk. Now it looks like even for the email service, it might take up to 5 days for a response. It would be nice to see your doctor when you're sick (not a nurse, or another doctor that doesn't know you).

Visits are hard to schedule because she is so busy. She needs more help so she can be more efficient. But I have been going to her for 20 yrs and I have no intention of changing, just wish it was easier to talk with her.

Dr. F-W has been my physician for a number of years since I moved to the area, and she has overseen my transition from post-menopausal to senior status. While I've not had any life-threatening illnesses, I did have some serious gastrointestinal problems that required follow-up lab tests and procedures. These problems have been resolved. At my recent visit she recommended a psych consult which has been scheduled. During my visits, I always feel that Dr. F-W remembers me well and is attentive to my needs. She is a compassionate, intelligent, and insightful physician!
