Board certified endocrinologist David Fittingoff, M.D., was influenced by his father, also an endocrinologist, to pursue a career in medicine. Plus, the challenge of the specialty intrigued him. With few cures for endocrine problems, such as diabetes and thyroid conditions, helping patients control symptoms and their overall health takes a thorough understanding of the patient and the disease itself. Dr. Fittingoff received his medical degree from Hahnemann University and went on to complete an internship at LAC/USC Medical Center, a residency at Wadsworth VA Medical Center and Sepulveda VA Medical Center, all in Los Angeles, Calif., and a fellowship in endocrinology at the Sepulveda VA. He is an assistant clinical professor of medicine at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center's division of endocrinology. Dr. Fittingoff enjoys traveling, cooking skiing and playing tennis.

I HAD TO WAIT IN THE EXAMINATION ROOM FOR AN EXTENDED TIME WAITING FOR THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT TO COME BACK AND ADMINISTER A FLU SHOT. I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN FORGOTTEN.

Dr. Fittingoff routinely ran blood tests for my white blood count even though I am a Type 2 diabetic. Because of his thoroughness he caught the development of CML and immediately sent me to a Oncologist for further tests and care. I did, in fact, have CML and am being treated [...] and I am recovering very well. I feel Dr. Fittingoff's care and keen eye for detail saved my life! I thanked him for it personally through tears.

i have a somewhat unique medical history. the doctor was dismissive when listening to the issues I have relating to that history, rudely skeptical of the requests I made for particular lab tests [...]. doctor refused to consider ordering an iron infusion for me (a treatment I received several times to treat low/nearly low ferritin level) and refused to consult with a hematologist on my behalf. instead he referred me to a hematologist to review lab results that he plainly should understand and treat. I now must spend more [...] time reviewing the same data Doctor has to get proper treatment. I am not pleased.

I don't care for this doctor or his bedside manner. I saw him in the extended care so didn't have a choice. I had the flu and was experiencing a cough and wheeze. He is aloof and I didn't want to ask him anything more than was absolutely necessary. I'd prefer not to see him again.

Dr. Fittingoff seemed to pass of my illness as a virus... it lasted 3 weeks. Was probably an early sinus infection but I was too mad to go back.

I was in so much pain and he took me in right away. the meds he gave me helped me a lot. I still have pain and I don't know if I have an approval for the chiropractic doctor. But the doctor was very helpful.

Dr. Fittinghoff saved my life by ordering blood count tests every three months I come to see him. He caught an abnormality in my WBC and referred me immediately to see a Hematologist/ Oncologist who ran many blood tests. I was diagnosed with CML which would have gone undetected without Dr. Fittinghoff's excellent care and watchful eye!

When I can actually get ahold of my Doctor and Doctors assistant they are AMAZING. So knowledgable, they're the reason I drive from Valencia. But when I'm experiencing an urgent matter, forget it.

Dr. Fittingoff was great. Proper bedside manners, appears to genuinely care about my issues, listened to and answered all of my questions thoroughly in a way I could uunderstand. All of the staff I encountered were helpful and nice. I have already recommended this doctor and plan to see him again to monitor my health.

I saw him through their urgent care and when I arrived I was told the doctors were at lunch. That is equal to a restaurant not having any food. Why would an urgent care doctor leave the facility when it was only open from 10-3. Regardless of the hours who can an urgent care doctor leave???????????
