there was a long wait time, which I understand due to the flu season but I was there for 3+ hours and they called 3 people before me that came in long after I did and it was only after I asked how many more people were ahead of me that they called me next

Genny was awesome! this was an urgent care visit and she was patient, friendly, and paid attention to what was bothering me. the rest of the staff were also very welcoming and I even joked to another couple waiting at urgent care that I'd stay just for how nice and helpful they are at Providence. the urgent care is next to the main office and I tried to get an appt first but couldn't which is why I went to urgent care. the appt desk woman was very helpful and tried to get me in but there wasn't anything available-she really showed she wanted to help, kudos!

For me, Genny Alvarez was not only competent, but a nice lady who knows the needs of her patients, and how to treat them, precisely, when they come to her because they need help. In my case, I was not looking for her, because I have my provider, who was not available that day, but I was so glad to have the opportunity to meet her. Thank you very much, Genny!

Although she was seemingly kind and concerning, she completely missed a fracture in my posterior malleolus. I complained of ankle pain and swelling after a fall I sustained, falling backwards and she took 3 x-ray views of the front and side of my ankle. Upon viewing the x-rays, she was not able to discover the fracture. Since this injury was sustained at work, I had to go to a worker's comp urgent care afterwards where they took 8 views of my ankle, finding a fracture, and sent me for doppler because of skin color was suggestive of a possible DVT, and also sent me for an MRI which confirmed the fracture, torn cartiledge and several ligament tears. I was also never called by anyone at your urgent care to confirm x-ray findings as well.

This is the nurse-practitioner in urgent care so I didn't make an appointment but she helped me with several matters. I complained of an inner ear problem making me dizzy when I rest in the wrong position and she tested me for that and recommended an ENT. I also asked her about unexplained bruises on my abdomen which she explained was because I'm taking too much aspirin and ibuprofen, and that info fixed the problem. I also told her I needed to find a new pulmonologist and she gave me a list of providers so she was very helpful.

She gave me the care I needed, but she didn't explain all the medications she prescribed enough. I ended up seeking clarification from the pharmacist. I wanted to know why I needed all three of the medications prescribed, and what each one was for, exactly.
