Margarita Oveian, MD, specializes in neurology and neurodiagnostics. She completed her internship in internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and her residency in neurology was completed at LAC + USC Medical Centers. Her extensive fellowship in clinical neurophysiology was completed at USC University Hospital and helped her become an expert in the fi eld of neurodiagnostics, including EMG, NCS and EEG. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her research experience and clinical interests include a variety of neurological disorders, such as neuropathy, stroke, chronic refractory headaches, dizziness, women's issues in neurology, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, dementia and Parkinson's disease. She is a voluntary attending neurologist at LAC + USC Medical Center and clinical instructor involved in training neurology residents and fellows in electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies (NCV), which are highly effective in the diagnosis of nerve and muscle disorders and also for evaluating the severity of impairment and prognosis.
