Elliot L. Plotkin, DPM, EdD, specializes in esthetic reconstruction of foot deformities, including pediatric sports medicine, injuries, diabetic foot care and limb salvage. He is board certified in podiatric surgery and podiatric orthopedics. Dr. Plotkin received his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and has a Doctorate in Education. He did his residency training through the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and Affiliated Hospitals, and was an Assistant Professor there for several years. Dr. Plotkin's clinical areas of expertise include trauma injuries, diabetic foot care, limb savage, reconstruction of the foot and ankle, and sports medicine. He was instrumental in developing the use of radiofrequency lesioning in the treatment of plantar fasciitis. This treatment commonly used for years for back pain is now being used to successfully treat common heal pain with remarkable results and recovery times. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. Dr. Plotkin is a member of the Providence Holy Cross and Providence Saint Joseph Medical Staffs providing care in podiatric surgery and general podiatric care.
