First visit with Dr. Petersen, but won't be the last. He was, indeed, a breath of fresh air. First cardiologist I've ever met that didn't try to give the impression that he was somehow king of the realm, and smarter and superior to the mere common riffraff.

He did not know why I was there. I had to explain to him I wanted to talk about the blood thinner I was taking. I was in his office maybe 15 minutes. After I arrived back home I got a call from his office wanting me to schedule with another doctor in the clinic. I felt I had wasted a co-pay, and now would have to pay another one.

It would be more convenient for scheduling to take place in the exam room rather than making an extra stop. Dr. Peterson is very good at making me feel comfortable and I really appreciate his light-hearted personality!

I really like that Dr. Petersen is so easy to talk with, especially about helping to decide best course of action, medication options, etc. He's straightforward without being frightening. He pleasantly explains the reality of my medical situation. Really appreciate being able to have such an open, two-way dialog. That's important when you want to be realistic as a person ages.

Dr. Petersen is the perfect Dr.for me. I am a retired cardiac nurse and we had a great time getting to meet each other. He was humerous but careful in his assessment of my cardiac situation. Ordered the right tests, performed the right exams. He gets high points from me. my visit was to get a cardiac referral before endoscopic procedures and at the same time I needed to switch my care from the West side of Portland to the East side.

My lower than stellar ratings came from feeling rushed when in the presence of Dr Petersen. I'm not sure if that feeling came from myself or from Dr. Petersen. maybe from both of us. I often feel that from M.D's.

Dr Petersen has treated me for 14+ years and saved my life in 2004 by placing six stents into my heart. I trust him with my life and have mentioned him to friends who have heart problems.
