Professional Statement
His love of science and desire to be in the service industry helping people is what drove Brian Drake, M.D., to medicine. "I chose OB-GYN because of the joy of bringing life into this world," he says. "My own children mean so much to me. I really enjoy the breadth of the field - from primary care to birth, and minimally-invasive surgery." In his practice, Dr. Drake emphasizes personalized care. "It's important for me to listen to my patients and to partner with them in their medical care," he said. "I take into account the patient's concerns and provide recommendations that I would want for my own family." After earning his medical degree from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Dr. Drake completed his internship and residency in OB-GYN at Akron General Medical Center. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Drake was born in Washington State and raised in Oregon. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children, two of which are studying health care. Dr. Drake's hobbies include reading, hiking and fly fishing.

Dr. Drake is an excellent physician - you are lucky to have him back. He was my physician at [...]. When he made the transition back to Providence it was difficult because of your policy that required me to see him in the office prior to any phone orders for rx refills, etc. I was travelling and could not see him in person immediately. I filled out the online paperwork for my records to be transferred etc but that didn't help. So the transition was difficult and a little frustrating. [...] I have been seeing Dr. Drake for many years, he knows me well and his hands were tied.
