Professional Statement
It is my goal and privilege to get to know each of my patients beyond their medical concerns. For me, this part is critical to creating an individualized treatment plan. I love that my job permits me to participate in some of the most important events in a woman's life. As much as I love celebrating these wonderful moments, I believe my most important role is to support my patients during their more difficult times.

I have a special interest in helping patients manage obstetric or gynecologic issues that are emotionally challenging including infertility, miscarriage, management of abnormal pap smears, and weight concerns. Outside of work, my family is most important to me.

I am happily married to a supportive spouse with two children. Our family is very active, and we enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, camping and traveling together. I also love playing soccer, tennis and running. Most of all, I love running to deliveries! I completed medical school at Emory University in my home town of Atlanta, Ga. I completed my residency training at Oregon Health & Science University in 1999. I was in private practice in Portland for 14 years before joining the Providence team as a part-time provider. In 2007, I was recognized by Portland Monthly as one of Portland's top doctors.

I really like my provider, but the wait times at the office on the day of my appointments continue to be an ongoing issue.

Dr. Bauer was excellent, as usual. There was also a scribe in the room. I was uncomfortable with the scribe observing my pap smear and pelvic exam; this was not a part of her professional role, and I would have preferred that the scribe had kept her eyes on the screen or asked my permission if she could look.

Both the doctor and nurse were very attentive to my concerns. The doctor was gentle, showed that she was committed to finding a solution to my health issue, and spent plenty of time explaining my treatment going forward.

Dr. Bauer is a wonderful doctor. She put me at ease, answered all my questions, explained what she was doing and why, worked well with her assistant who seemed to be new to her.

Dr. Bauer is a very good physician, always takes time to listen to any concerns or issues, is thoughtful and knowledgeable about her responses. As an Ob-Gyn, she provides excellent care and advice to those in the older adult group. So glad that she was referred to me several years ago by Dr. [...], my PCP, after my prior Ob-Gyn retired [...].
