After becoming a registered nurse, Destiny Knocker, FNP, often found herself wondering how patients were doing post discharge which led her to become a family nurse practitioner. She enjoyed diving deeper into the anatomy and physiology of diseases, and found special interest in disease prevention, education, and treatments.
“I became a provider so I could provide education to patients, make joint treatment plans, and see patients throughout their lifespan,” says Destiny. “I consider my most important role as a provider to be a provider that you can honestly and openly communicate with.”
What Destiny enjoys the most about being a medical provider is educating patients, and watching them become more invested in their health.
Destiny earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama, and earned her undergraduate degree in Nursing from Oregon Health and Science University.
Raised in Portland, Destiny is married and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys gardening, baking, reading fiction novels, DIY (do it yourself) projects, and being active outside. She’s also volunteered in a hospital in Ghana, Africa.
