For Jennifer Higham, PA-C, science and medicine has always interested her. She began her career in drug discovery research. She then moved into clinical research where she was able to see how medications changed patients’ lives. It was during this time that she realized she wanted to pursue a career in medicine.
In her practice, Jennifer’s philosophy of care is to empower patients to make informed decisions about their health, hopefully leading to a happier and healthier life. She is passionate about patient education and preventative health care. “Every patient has the right to be informed about their health so they can make the best medical decisions for themselves. I am here to be that support,” she says. She hopes her relationships with her patients are positive, collaborative experiences. “I enjoy using the knowledge and training that I have gained through my education and applying it in a setting where I can help a patient to make a change or difference in their lives,” she adds.
Jennifer earned her undergraduate degree in biology from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University in Savannah, GA.
Originally from Texas, Jennifer moved to the Portland area after graduate school. When not at work, she enjoys traveling, hiking and watching college football.
