Sharon Furrer, MS, RD, CD, CDE

Sharon Furrer is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) at Providence Medical Group. She assists those who want to prevent diabetes, those who are new to living with diabetes or who feel overwhelmed and frustrated with the demands of managing their diabetes. Sharon enjoys helping people to simplify complicated meal plans for managing diabetes or other nutrition related diseases such as weight management, celiac disease or chronic kidney disease. One of her interests is helping kids/teenagers and their families with tools to adopt a healthy lifestyle for weight management, disease prevention and improved health. She also leads nutrition and cooking demonstrations at Providence Regional Cancer Center focusing on a variety of aspects related to cancer prevention. Sharon received her Master of Science degree in Nutrition Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA and completed her post-masters residency at University of Washington Medical Center in 1987. She is knowledgeable in the use and interpretation of continuous glucose monitoring systems.
