About Johnny K. Chang

Johnny Chang, M.D., is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist and has practiced with the Hematology Oncology Medical Group of San Fernando Valley since 2004.

Dr. Chang graduated with honors from the University of California, San Diego, where he studied biochemistry and cellular biology. Dr. Chang received his medical degree from UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. Dr. Chang completed his internal medicine residency at UCLA Medical Center, where he also advanced his medical education by completing a fellowship in hematology-oncology.

Dr. Chang is passionate about working with research partners to discover new, improved treatment options. As a medical student he received the Emil Bogen Research Prize and was a Howard Hughes fellow during his tenure with the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. His work in cancer treatment at the NIH served as an impetus for his commitment in cancer care.

A critical component to delivering the best cancer care possible is collaboration with colleagues. Dr. Chang is very involved with the the San Fernando Valley medical community. He is an active participant in Providence Tarzana Medical Center medical committees. He serves as the medical director for Cedars Sinai Valley Oncology medical group and is able to collaborate with various disease group and access appropriate clinical research options.
